Are terms liberal and conservative simply a shortcut to thinking? Life is not black and white. shades of grey

I feel those who exploit them should bear some of the expense. Only one example.

Well said. Our government is basically a compromise between the federalists and the anti-federalists. Or, between the power of the central govt and the individual state govts. Then throw in the rights of the many vs not trampling on individual or small group rights. There are some monolithics who are hard core and wont consider the other POV, but most of us are,fiscal conservative and socially liberal. or vice versa.
The ones who are really not at either extream and the kind of peron theyre describing most people and the media to be morans.
